It's been a long time since the last release so I thought it was about time to bundle all the little fixes which have been accumulating in the git repo into a new release.
  • Qt5 compatibility + backwards compatibility with Qt4
  • C++11 and GCC6 compatibility
  • Added monophonic playback option
  • Added monophony and mute group settings to Akai .pgm export
  • Option to insert slice points at snap values when "Find" dropdown is set to "Beats"
  • Various bug fixes
Packages are available for Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch (AUR): https://rock-hopper.github.io/shuriken/

Thanks to Joermungand for the AUR package.

Note that the "shuriken" package is built against Qt5. If you experience graphical problems, try the "shuriken-qt4" package instead.

I'm just discovering it and it looks really Stable, rich and promising. I think I'm going to use it a lot.

Thanks a lot RockHopper !

I know this question might sound silly, but isn't there any way to integrate shuriken to other softwares that lacks beat-slicer functionality (Ardour or lmms, to only quote them) ?

Hi Squalala, glad you're enjoying Shuriken!

You've got a few options when it comes to integrating Shuriken into your workflow. Shuriken supports both NSM and LADISH L1 session management, which allows you to fire up both Ardour and Shuriken and reconnect all your JACK connections automatically. Alternatively, you can export a Shuriken project as an SFZ and load that into LinuxSampler or Carla.
