Re: Introducing AVL Drumkits LV2!
The video mentions debian distro packaging. Thanks to Mira, this is underway, but currently caught in the debian freeze (for upcoming stable).
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=849786 -- However if you're interested to meanwhile create a derived .deb package for some pro-audio distro, https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mul ... ms.lv2.git might be helpful.

Re: Introducing AVL Drumkits LV2!
I watched the video and am very excited for this. It looks fun to use, and the drum samples sound quite good. I can't wait to try it out. Thank you!

I just love the way people work together on these things.
The only point of frustration for me is that I just don't 'get' percussion. My best efforts are more likely to put you to sleep than liven you up

Re: Introducing AVL Drumkits LV2!
You can try them on any Linux by grabbing the binaries on Robin's site: http://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-avldrumsfunkmuscle wrote:anyway of getting the tarball or source so I can try on Arch?
create a '.lv2' folder in your home and copy them there, you may have to add a /home/<YOURUSERNAME>/.lv2 path to the host DAW you are using.
Re: Introducing AVL Drumkits LV2!
Well done x42 and GMaq!
That demo video was spot on too btw, I didn't realize all the cool features that had been added to ardour to make these integrate so nicely. Its going to be hard to use any other kits now knowing how easy it could be!

Oh yeah, how rude of me? Awesome job done by you guys even though I haven't tried it yet but going by the video I'm already in love.

Re: Introducing AVL Drumkits LV2!
Does that mean that we can expect in the future something like :
[bunch of good samples] -> [AVL formatting] -> [x42 magic mojo] -> [my awesome ultimate drumkit] ?
(and how ?)

Well I don't know about 'other' outside drumkits, there is a plan at some point in the future to re-record/resample the AVL Kits completely and double the velocity layers and use the same base of samples to create Drumgizmo kits. Before that I would like to also take a look at doing a really good set of percussion for Linux (Congas, Bongos, Cajon, Djembe etc.). I can't speak for Robin, his magic mojo is always at work
Personally the kits as they are answer all my needs but to expand into Drumgizmo's format they will need to be re-recorded with multiple mics simultaneously at some point. Miking is easy... preparing the kits, sample editing and formatting are the time consuming parts.
