Greetings,

Outstanding synth, great sounds in the presets. Standalone works fine, ditto for VST plugin in Ardour4. Alas, no joy with Bitwig 1.3.8, the plugin just makes a hissing sound. Bummer. I've notified Thomas, hopefully a fix'll come soon. Meanwhile I'll just have to check it out in Ardour4, along with Ardour's improved MIDI editing capabilities. :)

[Edit] Resolved in version 1.0.1, the plugin plays nicely with Bitwig now.

Best,

dp

Cool sounds! Though the gui doesn't show up for me, a tiny empty window is all that opens up.

I tried the VST version in MusE and Qtractor with same result.
This is on 64-bit kubuntu with kxstudio.

Hi Robert,

thanks - and thanks for reporting.

Can you try it in Carla, Ardour, Renoise, Tracktion or BitWig?
Like to know if it is a problem with the system libraries or with the hosts, because I've it never tested Monique in Muse or QTractor.

Thomas

EDIT: Ubuntu base version?

Ah, right, it's the 15.10 version.

And, yeah, I tried, but it didn't fare well ;)
First of, this isn't my studio computer but my tv computer, the occasional MusE:ing usually works fine though.

Ardour - crashed when I opened the gui
Renoise - never finished indexing plugins...
Bitwig - I can't figure out how to make it see the plugin
Traction7 - Doesn't start
I see I missed Carla, tried that now and it brings up an empty gui window also.
-----
So basically, the open source hosts did /something/ atleast..

Lastly, I tried on a 32-bit install of the same OS and it worked in MusE :)

monique (vst) seems to work and show as intended on qtractor (qt5.5.1, x86_64, opensuse tumbleweed), the gui even resizes/rescales to insane dpi's, something that it's rare to find elsewhere :)

cheers

What video chipset/cards are you using with Suse? And which drivers?
I'm getting another computer soon, and might as well
get parts known to work with Suse.
Cheers

Hello,

Trying this out now. No problems getting this going on my 17.1 linuxmint with kxstudio repos. Pretty gui window and getting cool sounds
out of my yamaha ypg235. The cpu usage is low, too, so far.

Thank you for your very good synth.

Sincerely,

Hi, did you manage to recreate this issue?
I'm asking since I tried on another computer with a very similar Kubuntu 15.10 installation and it worked.. so there must be something else that triggered it, possibly a very uncommon problem.

Also, I see the only thing missing in the demo is audio export in the plugin. Not really sure if that is useful so will anyone buy it? :P

Speaking for myself, my audio software purchases (assuming equal quality of product)
go first to developers who take the risk of generosity, by allowing users a lot of functionality,
to thoroughly test a product. I don't think the razz smiley attitude makes the linux community
more attractive to talented hard working developers considering linux as a potential supported platform,
who might lurk here to see what part of the market is like.

Sorry about the smiley it didn't really translate to what I wanted to ask.
I'm glad you feel that way about supporting developers with your wallet, I try to do that as well. I do worry however that this kind long term planning isn't the norm so I was more concerned that the difference between the two versions was too small, making the potential customer base smaller then necessary. But maybe there are more features coming that will give more attraction to the premium version.
