Hi Hans

Well, not a upload button, but I've added now a file-chooser widget which pops up when you press the "upload" Button on musical-artifacts.com
The file-chooser points to the guitarix preset-bank directory, so you just need to select the bank you will upload. Truly you need to sign in before and fill the form to make the presets available via apps=guitarix

Just passing by to say that I've corrected a few bugs and have slightly updated the site's looks and visual design to make it more browsable.

It's also got an atom rss feed now https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts.atom

In the last few days I've added the famous (at least to me) old Guitarix banks which were tested and work on the latest version. Also I've added several big collections of impulse responses made by bestplugins (https://www.youtube.com/user/bestplugins/videos) and finally a couple sample ardour sessions made by me.

Anyway, check it out at https://musical-artifacts.com/

Hi, cool site indeed!. How about adding possibility to add links to youtube and soundcloud and such that could have some preview of the sounds. Also with 'report dead link' to get rid of obsolete links at some point (automated check based on the reports could remove the links)

Edit: Oh, they were already there, in the details page.

It would be a good idea also to tag plugin catalogs with their formats.

Yes, as you can see, the 'more info' section will automatically expand youtube, soundcloud, images and more (https://github.com/lfzawacki/musical-ar ... #more-info)

For now reporting bad files can be made on the comment section below the download button in each artifact's page, but a function for reporting broken links is a good idea. I put it in my idea bank https://trello.com/c/oB1vqgdm/111-butto ... oken-links

It is, the format is currently inferred from the uploaded file and extra relevant ones can be added by the uploader. If there are some files with this information missing you can tell me here or leave comment in the page and I can correct it.

I'm thinking about ways of incorporating user suggested information (tags, file formats, description edits) without admin interference so maybe in the future these kind of small things can be corrected in a quick manner.

Thanks everyone for the feedback :)

Just passing around to announce some interesting features:

* Oauth2 login via multiple sites: Now you can access the site without creating an account, that is, by authenticating to a social network or other sites. The application will log you in and fetch your email, nickname and public avatar from any of these services: Github, Google, Soundcloud, Twitter and LinuxFR. The chosen sites are these as a combination of available oauth2 libraries for ruby and what I thought might be more useful for potential users.

* A recent activity system at https://musical-artifacts.com/activities : Lists the latest created, updated and favorited artifacts

This is a more low profile upgrade because these features are experimental and I'd like some feedback before I'm sure they're useful and working properly.

That's it, feedback is appreciated!

I suggest your great guitarix article be renamed, something like
'Guitarix: The Ultimate Guide',' instead of starting with 'Ultimate',
so it will appear on the first page in that alphabetized category.
It's too important a linux documentary to be missed by chance,
or by someone in a hurry.
Cheers

I think you're talking about the article in LibreMusicProduction right? Musical Artifacts is not related to LMP at all, even thought the project has been featured in the news section there and I gave an interview in the 'LMP asks' section.

That being said, I think you're right and this is a good idea. It's a really good article and I send it to everyone I know when they start tinkering with Guitarix.

You can try contacting the site owner via the contact section.

New updates on the website:

* Oauth2 support for login/registration with external websites. Currently supporting Google, Soundcloud, Twitter, Github and LinuxFR. If you have any suggestion of website you'd like to be able to use to login, get in touch.
* List of latest updates to the site archive in https://musical-artifacts.com/activities
* Added 'Free Art License 1.3' as an available license
* Act as a server for Hydrogen drumkits. In Hydrogen just go to 'Import Libraries' and add 'https://musical-artifacts.com/hydrogen_drumkits.xml' as a server, then reload drumkit list.
* Concept of Free/Non-Free licenses and filtering by 'Only Free Licenses'

Besides this we've got a few more guitarix presets (https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts?apps=guitarix) , more hydrogen drumkits (https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts?apps=hydrogen) and more soundfonts (https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts ... ammersound) being recovered from the old Hammersound website.

Hello all, I'm planning on dedicating more time to the website very soon and I've made a quick survey to help me focus my efforts based on what the users want. Here it is https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VUGsBj ... A/viewform

It'll only take a few minutes and will help me immensely. Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

To everyone else: I'm still taking answers for the survey https://goo.gl/mhBlyY . Please answer if you can!

Really thorough answers so far, the questions about which tools are used for music production and which files most interest people might end up making an interesting snapshot of the community.

Also make sure to use this post ti express your opinions and suggestions about the website, I'm still drafting a plan for the next steps.
