When I first started messing around with synthesizer I was *very* confused with what EG and ADSR stood for. A lot easier to search their meaning online now-a-days.
Even though it's common to use EG, I tend to avoid acronyms unless the spelled out version is never used (e.g. URL)

As I am about to test Tracktion 6 for Linux I made a little piece with it:

I'm not distributing the Linux VST for license reasons as the sdk is incompatible with the GPL. If you put the sdk from the steinberg website in ~/srcs then you can build from source for now. Probably the solution is having a separate VST distribution..
Does it have to be sdk2.4? Steinberg webpage has just 3.x version right now.

I dont understand one thing. A lot of developers dont make vst plugins because of license reasons, i understand that.
So LV2 is linux main plugin format. So every daw should support it (i use renoise and tracktion and they dont) otherwise it is like having windows daw without vst support and its ridiculous. I was hoping that this VST and LV2 clash will end one day but it is still same :-(.

Huge thank FalkTX for Carla even it is unstable for me in Tracktion when opening Helm GUI.

Oh. Thanks. I got it wrong like vsti cant be opensource, linux is opensource, so if somebody doesnt support LV2 but VSTI he doesnt support Linux :-). Thank you.

I will wait for VSTi version of helm then.
Personally i dont need LV2 if i can have vst :)

I dont get it!
Renoise doesnt have LV2 support but i see Helm in VSTi plugins.
I cant see Helm in Tracktion (doesnt have LV2 support neither) and paths are same IMHO.

(but it crashes same as in carla, when i open gui, create patch, close window, use it for a while and wanna reopen window it crashes daw everytime (so i cant open helm gui in saved projects))

That's not correct at all. There are quite a few companies who support linux but choose to use VST instead of LV2.

I know ive tried every linux plugin. I just thought that they are against some basic philosophy that a lot of linux developers feel.

No just the VST3 SDK is fine. There's support within it for building VST 2 plugins.

Nice synth! Lots of control options, and I like the patch load/save function, nice and direct.
One problem: I can't seem to get the step sequencer to work. It cycles, but I'm not getting any sound..

I think you have to route the sequencer signal to the oscillator "trans", or what ever it should control.

Hey everyone! Released a new version of Helm (v0.4.0) that fixed a lot of the major problems reported. No JACK support yet, but that's coming.

Here's a list of changes -

Fixed a crash when opening plugin GUI after changing parameters
Fixed loading back parameters from a saved DAW project
Mac AU Validation now succeeds
Mac build is 64/32 bit universal instead of just 64 bit
Windows installer now asks where to install VST plugin.
Windows 64 bit build is actually 64 bit now
MIDI input is marked "Helm" now instead of "JUCE: Midi Input"
Fixed Modulation Wheel input
Fixed Pitch Wheel's default pitch bending
Small optimizations to GNU/Linux builds

Weird, I'm only distributing an LV2, though you can build the VST from source. You didn't do that did you?
Oh and that reopening crash is fixed in version 0.4.0. Just released it yesterday.
