Novation / Focusrite competition
Hi. I am very new here, this is my first post and I am writing this just to spam you. No kidding! But I think it's for a good cause.
The Music Radar website just announced a survey and competition. You answer a few questions and get a chance to win some music gear: an audio interface, a MIDI controller, a set of monitors and a microphone. More details here:
http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/win ... ear-618480
WHY I AM POSTING THIS
It's a survey, you answer a set of questions about your music making habits and equipment you have or would like to have. It's somewhat boring and only UK residents qualify for the prizes, but the very last question is a free text box where you can enter any comments you feel like. Since I selected "audio interfaces" at the beginning of the survey, all the remaining questions were about audio interfaces, till the end of the survey. On the free comment box, I pleaded for more support to Linux.
Apparently, the survey is commissioned by Novation and Focusrite.
What do you think? Should we all flock there and post something similar? More power to the Penguin!!!!
If this is a bad idea, please don't be angry and don't ban me. I am a very good forum netizen!

Re: Novation / Focusrite competition
I don't bet in surveys and sweepstakes. There's no way I can win anyway.

Yeah, well, me neither. The idea is to use the opportunity to make ourselves heard.

Nice try, but for me WWW isn't usable anymore without adblock+.The prize winner will be chosen at random, and you have until 26 April to complete the survey. Good luck!
.
(WARNING: If you can't see the link to the survey above, you may have to disable any ad blocking software you have running and refresh the page. Alternatively, please try in a different browser)

I agree wholeheartedly, but I always have a spare, vulnerable browser installed for just that kind of situation.
Re: Novation / Focusrite competition
No.
But my hands-down browser is Chromium, which is maintained by free software contributors and I use sparingly. Do you think it would be so vulnerable that a research site could be harmful to the entire machine?

If you r that worried about not using adblock for 10 minutes.
you could always install a slim linux install in virtualbox

Re: Novation / Focusrite competition
I am not worried using WWW without adblock+, I am pissed off from all those ad crap.
Who complains about adblockers has some bad intent, as a rule of thumb.
Being brave, opening the site and having answered some questions I was pissed of as soon as I read the terms and conditions of the contest.
