Nootka-0.8.77-beta released

Post by SeeLook »

First of all I would like to thank all testers and
falkTX and WolfTune.
They pushed me to make some changes and it brought Nootka improvements.

Files are on:
http://nootka.sf.net
Surely, falkTX is preparing KXStudio package... :)
I hope you will enjoy.

P.S.
JACK support is still experimental and switched off by default, but there is a check box in sound settings to turn it on.
I couldn't hear a sound through it due to problems with configure JACK under Arch Linux but I've seen already opened streams in QJackCtl :D

Bit OT but was that the title of the first book you read? Maybe 'Look and See'? :)

I tried 0.8.77 on AVLinux and got the same results as before - playback by alsa audio or midi is fine, but Jack does not work. The Jack implementation seems to have many problems - if you select Jack both Jack audio and midi ports are listed in menu of input/output sources. Obviously, it does not make sense to send audio to a midi port so the code should distinguish between audio and midi jack ports. If you select "system" as input no Jack ports are created so of course not sound can actually be input or output in Jack. Anyway, thanks for a nice application.
