Hi again!

  • synthv1 as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer;
    samplv1 a polyphonic sampler synthesizer;
    drumkv1 as yet another drum-kit sampler;
    padthv1 a polyphonic additive synthesizer.
Are also being now released as the second batch of the so called QStuff* (northern) Winter'22 season.

Change-log:
- Dropped autotools (autoconf, automake, etc.) build system.
- Fixed deprecate warnings in preparation for Qt >= 6.2.

All delivered in dual form:
- a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non Session Management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support;
- a LV2 instrument plug-in.

The Vee One Suite are free, open-source Linux Audio software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.

Thank you, drumkv1 is used in 90% of my music. Great work!

Thanks for your cool stuff. I use drumkv1 a lot.

My special wish for 2022:

Randomize a parm based on the fixed value with every note-on. To set the amount of randomization give a "shift" mode to its control.

Say I have a fine tuning of 0 and set the fine tuning knob into "shift" mode to set the randomization to 5. Then with each note-on the fine tuning is set to 0 (fixed value) - 5 + rnd(2*5)

If this is possible with some important parms like fine tuning, sample start, volume then this will lead to a big human touch I think.

thanks, maybe you can emulate the use case with a random, low rate and small amounts to LFO Sweep, Pitch, Volume, etc. unfortunately there's none not for sample-start/end though, sorry.

Rui,

When do you go to the bathroom? Or do you just keep a pail next to your computer?

Hi! Congrats on the new releases! You are tireless.. :lol:

I know you have a PPA and I have tried it on and off and sometimes the static lib packages get tangled up with Debian stuff in a bad way, I'm not expecting you to make any changes though.. I just wanted to let you know that the Q-Stuff is now all kept very much up to date in the MX Linux Repositories thanks to 'SwampRabbit' one of the Packagers there so in AV Linux MX Edition ISO releases it's now very much up to date and available both to AVL and MX Users and should prevent any Package or library conflicts.

Just sayin', now back to the Release party!

the Qt 6.x Static Libraries are only needed for *building* the vee-one plugins--it's not advised nor required to install that in general, unless you're keen to build some fancy stuff to Qt static libraries that is;)

and why there are these qt-static builds of the vee-ones needed, you ask? yep, just because that's the only way it's guaranteed to work on ardour upstream binary deliveries--if you build both ardour and the vee-ones to same system-libraries then you won't ever need this crap ;)

I don't know if this would be a suitable place to report an issue or not, but here's what I'm seeing:

I have a Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen 5 laptop with a 4k touchscreen. I use the current version of Reaper. When I try to drag the bottom right corner to scale the Vee One Suite plugins, they don't scale correctly. The image is off screen and the plugins hard crash Reaper. I use EndeavourOS, which is a rolling release, which uses the Arch Repositories and AUR. I run Gnome and Wayland. Any suggestions? Can anyone with a 4k screen confirm this? Thank you!

well, dragging the bottom right border (or any other border there is) never scaled the UI anyhow--it's been always a *resizing* thing and although it's there available for you to grab, it's not one that gives or shows interesting results anyway: it just spreads the widgets and layout. it scales nothing.

besides, it doesn't crash here though (KDE, Wayland, FHD, qtractor and ardour; dunno about reaper, maybe their latest LV2 UI X11 embedding is too advanced, or maybe it isn't, don't ask me:) but if I were you, I wouldn't rely to resize the Vee-One's GUI anyhow: it just gets uglier than they already are :)

cheers

So is there no current way to scale the gui up? My 4k monitor and my eyes would both thank you. :)

you can try launching your host like this:

Code: Select all

QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2 /path/to/bin/reaper
but no guarantees it if will work right :/
