This looks COOL! I've had a GNX3000 for a year now, but never messed with the patches because I never felt motivated to muck with the controls or boot into Windows to run X-Edit...Crap. Now that I look closer at the page it says it only supports RP250 and RP500. Oh well...studio32 wrote:I found this, support for digitech pedals...

What is the good or special of an digitech pedal? For what type of music are they?
Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
AudioDNA2 which is pretty good DSP.studio32 wrote:What is the good or special of an digitech pedal? For what type of music are they?
Check some demos on youtube, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYgQgFyIRV8
Also, there's Sound Community where users share their patches (gdigi can apply those patches to device)
Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
Pretty much anything. The GNX3000 includes a bank of presets which is basically emulations of various guitarists (not exactly spot on, but some are pretty close), another bank of presets which covers various amp types and a third, user configurable bank. One of the unique qualities is that you can blend different types of amplifier to create different sounds. I really wish these were out years ago when I had more time and was more serious about playing.studio32 wrote:What is the good or special of an digitech pedal? For what type of music are they?
Check out http://www.guitarworkstation.com/forum. Some folks post recordings of their patches.
Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
To be honest, I got sick of all those sounds most of the time. You know the situation when you are in a big guitar shop and everyone is making 'popular' riffs, with all those different (something cheapo fake) sounds...
I never go to an guitar shop again!!
Maybe I prefer 'original' sounds made by AMS and stuff even more
Am I right that digitech is focusing on metal sounds?
Don't get me wrong, I like this is available for Linux, very good job!!!
@desowin, what is your connection to digitech?

Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
There are some "metal" patches (and "cheapo fake" ones), but I wouldn't charactize their products as being focused on metal. I usually spend more time in the patches with less effects simply because the cabinet sounds are so realistic.studio32 wrote:Am I right that digitech is focusing on metal sounds?

customer,studio32 wrote:@desowin, what is your connection to digitech?
I once had RP200, but sold it and bought RP250 (the difference between the two is HUGE)
Also, there's this "donate" button on gdigi website for a reason
Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
ok, cool.
A lot of people use those line6 stuff, but that doesn't work very well on Linux isn't it? Would be good if those are better supported on Linux...

Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
line6 don't work on linux? Good to know that but I thought this was the linux support for it:
http://www.tanzband-scream.at/line6/
They maybe issues with Deb distros but apparently it works fine with my distro Arch from what I've heard.
Do you guys know of any hardware ampsim that allows you to bypass it's speaking emulator?
I like using guitar amp/cab Impulse Response files instead. They sound better from my experience with my like peavey rage.
I've notice now that all practise amps comes with a cab sim line out instead of a preamp or regular line out.
Can anyone help?

Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
The Digitech allows you to turn off speaker compensation for your various outputs, if that's what you're asking. It's designed to be used with a real guitar amp (w/o SC) or directly into a mixing board/PA/whatever (w/ SC).funkmuscle wrote:Do you guys know of any hardware ampsim that allows you to bypass it's speaking emulator?

Re: How many Linux musicians are JUST guitarist??
perfect... I noticed that while checking the Jimi Hendrix pedal.
That's what I'm looking for.
Any of these devices tube powered?
