Who inspired who ?

Post by Gps »

Two disco tracks, and I always wondered.

But I am guessing Fly Robin Fly was the first track.

Belle Epoque - Miss Broadway

Fly Robin Fly - Silver convention.

Lets google:

"Fly, Robin, Fly" is a song by German disco group Silver Convention from their debut studio album Save Me (1975)

Miss Broadway is the first album of the female trio Belle Epoque. It was released in 1977

That seems to answer my question. I might have both on vynil......

Watching those 70 ties vids, wondering how many today would call it offensive.

Then this one, only that title would probably hurt some feelings.
Belle Epoque - Black is Black. (which is a cover)

The original as far as I know of Black is Black - Los Bravos

Well, for those two talking about "inspiration" is generously strutting terms and I wouldn't even bother to call a lawyer since the two of them are so different that not even a ledzepfan jury would pretend to sue, eventually one seems a puny version of LawOfTheLand (Temptations) and the worst one as a lazy attempt on Prisencolinensinainciusol (Celentano) but they're both so lame that not a lawyer would break his nap on them ;)

Well I bought once a few records, with 70 ties music, in the 80 ties.
Before this I already knew Fly robin fly, Then while listen to the records I stumbled on Miss broadway, an instantly thought, wait a minute this sounds familiar.

I like them both though.

But its clearly in a different (much lover) class then some songs of the 70 ties, like Deep Purple Child in Time.
Recently learned it was about the cold war.

Also learned Deep Purple got inspired for child in time, by this track:

It's a Beautiful Day - Bombay Calling
