Re: Obituary thread for musicians
Renowned sound engineer and studio designer John L. Sayers has left us. Well-known for numerous Australian hit records and countless others from the 60s on, John more recently concentrated on studio design for some of the best studios worldwide. He also was the creator of the immensely popular Studio Design Forums.

Yes not strictly a musician, but an incredibly important stalwart of the music biz. RIP

RIP András Ligeti
The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. [Acts 4:32]

RIP Pat Martino! It's sad that I did not read this news anywhere on the Internet, we are talking about one of the greatest guitarists ever, with one of the best life stories ever. I got the news from a recent article about him.

Legendary reggae bassist Robbie Shakespeare has left us. RIP Robbie, your riddims with Sly Dunbar, and particularly Black Uhuru, have moved me countless times.

Re: Obituary thread for musicians
I just learned that Albert One (Alberto Carpani), italo disco legend, died back in 2020. It's sad that I don't remember hearing this news, considering that I am Italian. RIP, Alberto!

Re: Obituary thread for musicians
Procol Harem is one of my five favorite bands. they were unique in their sound as well as the subject matter of their songs. Gary Brooker was the pianist, lead vocalist and songwriter. Without him it would have been an interesting band; with him it was one of the best. "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" consistently ranks at or near the top in British song rankings. I loved their "A Salty Dog" album. Especially the song "All this And More."
This one brings tears to my eyes.
RIP, Gary Brooker.
