I have a somewhat clever trick I use to create a phat low end where it didn't exist previously:

Really hard highpass, cut at 50hz (or lower if you need it). Sound stops there and the really steep filter slope creates a resonance at the cutoff point. On LSP Parametric EQ, I usually set the highpass to LRX mode with a slope of x4, with no Q.

I use it to make metal drums sound like electronic drums and to enhance electronic drums. Not sure if it would be applicable to your use case scenario.
