Setup Netjack2 with a crossover cable

Post by studio32 »

It's pretty easy to setup netjack2 for two Linux hosts, but it should also be possible for a setup with Windows or OSX.

Get a crossover cable
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable

Setup the connection:
https://askubuntu.com/a/26770

Start netjack on the Master:

Code: Select all

jack_load netmanager
https://github.com/jackaudio/jackaudio. ... r_NetJack2

Start netjack on the Slave

Code: Select all

jackd -R -d net -a 10.0.0.2
Start netjack on the Slave with a midi in- and output:

Code: Select all

jackd -R -d net -i 1 -o 1 -a 10.0.0.2
(10.0.0.2 is the ip of the Master in this case, could be 10.0.0.1 in your case if you followed the instructions on askubuntu)

Have fun!

(Such a crossover cable seems also be handy to copy your 00GB+ sample collection from one computer to another ;) )
