Yes I did try it and I did post about it here, when someone else wanted to know how to play a synth from a guitar, got no feedback what so ever from my post though ;) It does work surprisingly well, even at low latency. Problems are that you have to pick cleanly and that it's monotonic. Still great fun to play around with.
