How2 guitar/etc arpeggio in midi editor

Post by D-Tuned »

This may not be new to gurus but it sure was for me because when I searched for info on it I found nothing. I use Rosegarden for the little midi editing that I do, then use the playback to save a sound file with jack_capture. Most midi soundfonds don't provide enough depth for my liking nor the micro vibes that give soul to a sustained note; my solution for the former is to play back the the segment with 2 different instruments such as a ZynAddSubFx-155 clean guitar and a GeneralMidi-34 picked bass. This combined with the arpeggiating notation (below) gives me the depth and timber ..although the sustain remains dead-fishish, and for someone else to fix :-)

Try the staff in the diagram with different tempo (I use 80) and also test different balancing of the two sounds to get what you want.
