Guten Tagen
Dang, I am happy for you guys. I sure wish I could have been there.
I'd love to go to Berlin for the people, music, linux, food, computer science and maybe meet some distant family members.
For what it's worth, possibly my biggest musical influences are KMFDM (keiner macht fur dich meir) and Front 242.
If I could travel, I suppose I'd stop in Brussels, Belgium too. I love classic Dubstep, and even bands like Jo Bogaert's Technotronic project. Maybe somebody could tell me what the lyrics to "Ambient Kinsky" by Jo Bogaert are actually saying. I think they are in Deutch, but I don't know for sure. Germany? Holland? Belgium? I only speak English. But I am jealous... in a peaceful way, of course.
I hope you guys are having a great time and had a great time. Maybe someday in the future I'll attend such a conference.
I love Linux and the cultures it came from. Sweden too. I listen to The Curve (Brittish, from Manchester), etc.
America is OK, but we are kinda nuts/insane much of the time. I'd love to get away from here and go someplace that's maybe more sophisticated. Denmark, awesome! The closest I've been to Berlin was that nightclub in Chicago with the same name (The Berlin) I was too shy to go inside though hehehehe
I'll be checking out the videos. Take care.

Here's a pretty good one from Germany. Cheers.
Re: Guten Tagen
Hahaha that was clever. I will have to look up a translation of the lyrics. I had a vague feeling from the video of what he was saying.jonetsu wrote:Here's a pretty good one from Germany. Nice ending! The funny thing about that band, is that if I played that around here, in the part of USA where I am, especially if I took it to the right neighborhoods or regions, it would probably be a GIGANTIC hit. Because, it has elements of top 40 1980s pop rock as well as being a little bit a country and a little bit a rock n roll (country is really big here), and since a lot of people here are Germanic ethnically it's like a trifecta for them.
I recognize the logo at the end too; I had a copy of a similar one in my downloads. Good stylish way to end a video.
Thanks for that, jonestu. You rock.

About the only thing I know how to say is, "Die Ärtze ist ein schoner swann" (yeah I know that's a silly thing to say; it's a joke).
His voice is definately not a froschfresser (how do you spell that?) hehehe . As people would know, I only know German words from KMFDM lyrics

Kein Problem ! You're welcome.
I'm too lazy to translate, so here's one translation, looks OK, not the best, but OK.
The Smartest Men In The World
They look neat and are charming
Are well-dressed and articulate
Every single is a hero
These are the smartest men in the world
They smile to reporters army
And no response is difficult for them
They carefully manage our money
The smartest men in the world
They choose for us
Yes, they suffer for us
Our darkness is illuminated by them
These are the smartest men in the world
They know how, they know when
And what they can expect of us
Because we often lack the overview
We have elected them to the office
Sometimes they make themselves unpopular
Often It is difficult for us to understand them
Politics is a complicated area
Not for the smartest men in the world
They choose for us
Yes, they suffer for us
Our darkness is illuminated by them
These are the smartest men in the world
If soon everything is blazing and everything burns
And the earth trembles from the bombardment
If nothing is left for us but to pray for deliverance
... Then let us praise them!
The smartest men on our planet
Tschüß !

It could be mildly surprising to see Native Instruments and Ableton as sponsors.
