CloudFlare DNS

Post by raboof »

I'm planning to move the linuxmusicians.com DNS servers to CloudFlare. Those should be a little more performant/reliable especially for forum members outside of Europe.

CloudFlare also does some protection against malicious visitors, it might be that you'll be greeted with a captcha page. If this happens too often, feel free to get in touch.

We might also try enabling the other CloudFlare CDN features in the future, but let's start with just DNS.

All those warnings in the admin page worry me...
Good idea, I'll try to make some time this weekend. Though it should be a quick task, I want to allocate enough time to be able to do emergency response if it goes wrong :)

Ugh, as a Tor user, I'm against this change. I always have to enter reCAPTCHA in CloudFlare sites and recently it became worse.

Cloudflare has different 'security levels'.

I've set the 'security level' for linuxmusicians.com to 'low'. Do you still get captcha's?

Let me know if you encounter them, they also have a "essentially off" level below "low" :)

Done! Some things take some getting-used-to or seem to need tweaking, but it seems to work :).

Let me know if you find anything that needs to change.

Hi

Is it possible to de-select the provided mobile view, or provide a "desktop view" select switch?
On the road again.

Agreed. It's not bad, as 'mobile' views go, but I still prefer the full-site experience. A profile setting would be best.

Fortunately, the "Request Desktop Site" option in the mobile Firefox works OK.
All in favor of Linux, say 'aye.'
