Hi Everyone,
I teach physics at a small college here and do music and hacking as my side gig. I play keyboards and got into soundfonts as part of a project to build myself a MIDI sound module for my keytar out of a Raspberry Pi, and ended up as one of the maintainers of pyfluidsynth - a widely used python wrapper for FluidSynth - and I've contributed a sliver of code to FluidSynth as well. I've recorded a couple of albums the muggle way (i.e. paid a nice guy with a studio and expensive gear/software), but I'm planning to produce my next album myself using Qtractor!
Looking forward to learning a lot from this community I've seen a few posts here from people wanting to build a synth or music project with a Raspberry Pi, and I've put together a complete software package and hardware schematics (free to use) that turn a Raspberry Pi into a versatile instrument you can play in front of people. Check out the links in my sig and feel free to hmu with questions/ideas/tips/criticism.
Cheers,
Bill

Welcome! I spent a year in Moline and Davenport a long time ago. Enjoyed seeing the highly entertaining local band The Metrolites quite a few times. Looking forward to hearing what you get up to in Qtractor!
