Hello,
New member here. Currently using the GeekosDAW flavor of OpenSUSE as my platform.
Long time Reaper user over on the Windows side, now I get to see about getting it to work in Linux.
I've been playing music 39 of my 50 years. Using it as a decent portion of my yearly income at least 28 of them. Maybe not the last year, but looks like restrictions are starting to go away so hopefully we can get back to normal soon.
Right now I am using a Focusrite Saffire 24 as my main interface/soundcard. Not totally sure how it set itself up, but i am getting sound through out my monitors, I have also been able to test a guitar input into a virtual amplifier. with signal being recorded into Reaper as well as hearing the real time(<64ms buffer) playback. Essentially the same settings I use in windows. If I need to expand I have a Behringer ADA8000 which I light pipe into the Saffire unit.
I am also building a system which will be using a RME HDSP 9652 card into ADDA converters into a Ramsa 18 channel analog board I own.
FWIW I am also from Texas

Hey there Alexsson. Noticed you are in Scottsdale. Was just out there for a gig in 2018.

Welcome Bjorn! Texas is a great place, wish to visit it someday!
