Hi all,
Finally, I made it.
Ever since the first sounds I heared (Space Art, Trip in the center head) I was sold to the idea of making music...the electronic way.
Since I cannot afford the space nor the cash for a setup with multiple heyboards, my setup is simple: two PC's, each a MIDI keyboard. One is a synth (ZynaddsubFX and AmSynth) and the other one is a sampler. The mini Mac (upgraded to Debian, of course) records the whole thing via Ardour.
It's a lifelong dream, so, I'm far from production ready.
I may shoot some questions your way. Hope you can help
Thanks
Melissa
PS I forgot the one that started it all: my Casio SK1...
Warm greetings

Re: Warm greetings
Welcome @OccinticLady.
As @nilshi suggested you could achieve the setup you want with a single computer, you can hook multiple MIDI controllers on one computer and record your sessions on the same machine.

Welcome! The good old Casio SK-1, it's even in some professional records

Well, that idea "diagonally" crossed my mind, however...I doubt it would even be possible. Or...I dont know how to do that, yet. Though...a decent (second hand) laptop should be able to handle it.
Hmm, never really explored that avenue of thought yet...

Re: Warm greetings
It is? I love that thing...just a weird way of synthesizing sounds the way it never really makes sense to someone (like me) that things in terms of VCO's, LFO's, VCA's and envelope filters. Of course...THIS paradigm makes AmSynth my preferred synth ATM...

Re: Warm greetings
Well,
I may HAVE to go "classic".
I tried midi sequencing and came out all cracked and delayed.
So, putting EVERYTHING on one box...will not be an option.
But..."classic" is what I did aim for...MIDI control wouild have been cool...
