HI,
I am a 66 year old hobbyist guitarist, linux user for over a couple of decades. I began using the computer for making guitar processing and recording about 18 months ago.
Current setup:
DISTRO: ubuntustudio
Effects Processor: Line6 Firehawk FX into a PreSonus AudioBox USB 2x2 DI box or rakarrack
Tuner: Lingot
Drum Machine: hydrogen
Recorder / sequencer: Ardour5
I use patchage for connections management. I find it easier to use.
Ardour5 has taken over Audacity for recording asked on its perceived, by me, flexibility.
Using the Firehawk FX to Ardour, through the Audiobox provides me with the the same sound through the computer that I would get amped. The lack of Line 6 support for Linux is limjting in some sense but heck, we are used to that.
I am happy to be here on this site.
Thanks
BRAU

Hi Brau,
Welcome, it looks like you've found the right place:-)
Not sure if you're considered it already, so just in case: Guitarix might also be a useful addition to your toolbox http://guitarix.org/
Cheers,

Thanks for the comments Beck!
I have not forgotten about Audacity, it is a very useful tool.
As for the Line 6 Firehawk FX, i do put it through a DI box into Ardour. I do also use Rakarrack as well, love it!
