June 24th is Québec's national day. Here's Harmonium, a very, very popular band from the late 70s with "Comme un fou" from their double LP "L'heptade"
This Harmonium double LP is considered as progressive rock. It was remastered on CD recently.
Quick translation is from Caroline, found in the comments section.

Like a fool
It's funny since I woke up
I don’t really fell the same
I find it hard to see myself
The mirror lets me down
But there must be something more than a coffee
To help me see
I want to blacken water
To whiten my brain
The device is plugged into my back
And burns in my skin
If you had to wake up
It would make two, you and the sun
To watch me eat breakfast
I feel I’m becoming a foreigner
I do not know if it's sad or funny
It's like I'm losing control
What do I have there, on my shoulders?
What makes me change my role?
I just jumped ten feet in the air
I'll find myself, a fool on earth
Like a fool, everything is so clear
Tell me what to do
I fell to the ground
In the midst of people who have not noticed
If I could do it again
With a little luck
I could try to fall on both feet
No, my little boy, no
It's not how we do it, no
You just have to keep the place we gave you
No, no, my little guy
Do not try to move, no
Otherwise your neighbors will (mess the lineup)
Tell me what to do
I fell on the earth
In the middle of a field that has been convert with steel
If I could try again
With a little luck
Maybe I could fall somewhere on the other side
No, my little boy, no
That’s not how we learn, no
You just have to look at where the others are placed
No, no, my little boy
Don’t try to talk, no
Because we’ll have to think about locking you up
It's funny since I woke up
Everything is loud in my ears
Even if the sounds are familiar
Even the noise in the stairs
And even if the clock ringed me (hit me)
To better have people see you
To be deaf for an hour
I'd like to hear my heart
Sleep was my only silence
I'm less alone when I think about it
If I had to wake up
Like Alice in her wonders
Staring at my cereals
Like an old crystal ball
I do not know if it's blue or white
Inside a diamond
The smaller I am, the bigger it is
I'll find myself in it
I just went through it
I'll find myself like a fool on earth
Like a fool everything is so clear

One of my favorite bands, glad someone else likes them!

And from Italy I like Quella Vecchia Locanda, Locanda Delle Fate, PFM, Maxophone, Synthonia, Il Castello di Atlante and especially Deus ex Machina. Italy and Québec were two centers of progressive rock creativity. I specifically use Québec and not Canada, because for instance Gentle Giant was totally unknown in Canada whereas it attracted crowds of 15 000 in the province of Québec.
Cheers.

Re: Harmonium - "Comme un fou"
I know you like the Italian prog too, I saw the other thread Yes, Italy had a creativity peak in the 1970s, a bit later than the UK but not too much. There are other great bands, some went on to create something completely different than traditional prog rock (such as Area), others did pop (like New Trolls), in general I'd say it was a self-contained movement because aside from (occasionally) PFM, you don't hear much about those bands nowadays.jonetsu wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 4:41 pmAnd from Italy I like Quella Vecchia Locanda, Locanda Delle Fate, PFM, Maxophone, Synthonia, Il Castello di Atlante and especially Deus ex Machina. Re: Harmonium - "Comme un fou"
And PFM went rather pop (in a good way I find) with "Passpartù" and "Suonare Suonare" which I think helped them to come back in the later years. I did not care much for "Come ti va" (?) and the last album.
Nowadays not much progressive rock is heard anyways, all countries included. PFM has seemingly several concerts planned for later on in 2020, Palmadova, Brescia, Padua, Milan, ...

More than ten years ago I saw PFM live with Franco Mussida . Great times were had!
