configuring several settings

Post by Tim »

It would be nice to have a stack with configuring audio apps/ settings/ jack/ soundcards for Linux. As far as I could read it's not in the forum yet.

There is a general hardware section and recording apps section.

Those sections are ment for mentioning used hardware and recording applications and not for configuration of software.

Let's say that it's nicer to post into a specific section when it comes to configuring jack, how to compile new software via scons, how to get low latencies etc. etc.

I think it would be usefull, but you moderators have to decide ;-)

you could as a compromise start a "configuration" discussion in the existing subforums (hardware or soft apps) and make them sticky. But if there are too many apps or hardware, you may end up with too many sticky threads ...

Actualy that's completely up to Nathan, he's is Administrator. I'm just helping to keep the site clean from spammers. I think that sounds like a good suggestion that you made too.

Good one from thorgal, I'll link to a nice config setting using jack + soundcard in hardware. Than Nathan can decide what he wants to do.

I think if you have fully formed tutorial, you could put it in the new HOW TOs and Reviews section. Otherwise, I would post your configuration questions in the Software or Hardware forums, depending on what the problem is. Let me know what you guys think about this...
