New LA Wiki web software? Better than dokuwiki?

Post by milkii »

So as it stands, the LA wiki needs a lot of sysadmin time to get it back up to date.

Anyone with broad-ish wiki experience; would sticking with dokuwiki still worth it?

What is the main advantage of dokuwiki in the first place?

I mean, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but in this case it is (currently) broke and also possibly "broke" in that it could be missing really neat features that would make it easier to navigate or recall information from.

So I'd like to garner some hopefully insightful opinions on the matter.

* https://kubedex.com/resource/dokuwiki
* https://github.com/splitbrain/dokuwiki - active development
* file not DB backed. easier to backup.
* interesting plugins

File backed, so updating the shotgun way as was suggested to me on #dokuwiki IRC is way easier. Hmm, might as well stick with it? It supports external authentication if ever there arises some cross site Linux/libre site user federation scheme.
