LM performance

Post by khz »

When I create a post it sometimes takes me a long time to reload the homepage.
Am I the only one or do other users have ~problems with the ~performance (Homepage)?

I have noticed that it is running slow. Not sure how to fix.

This could be a number of things: the fact that the server is in Germany, high load on the server or on the database, other (mis)configurations. Unfortunately I don't have good metrics to further narrow this down. If anyone has any suggestions on what to try please do share. I have told MySQL to 'optimize' the forum tables, whatever that means :).

Performance has been rather spotty again lately.

I've been doing some digging, disabling a number of crawlers which were hitting the site pretty hard, and disabling the 'member list' parts of the site for now (since this seems to be what some of the crawlers are particularly interested in).

I'm not sure I see the desired effect yet, stay tuned I guess.

Some stats, since who doesn't like stats:

I hope these numbers will be going down considerably based on the tuning I did today.

I found a way to make the filtering a bit more aggressive, I have good hopes this will make more of a difference.

If I accidentally blocked you (and i.e. you can only see the forum on your mobile connection but not on your home wifi, or vice-versa), please tell me the IP address for which it doesn't work.
