I'm using KXStudio 12.04 and trying Ardour 3, and the latency is funny. Seems I have to set buffer in Ardour, not anywhere else, for Ardour to recognize it for compensation. Furthermore, something is off about the compensation. I don't know if it has anything to do with setting "periods/buffer" at 3 in Cadence.
Is this just an issue of being patient for the full release of Ardour 3 to come out? For the record, something was funny with Ardour 2 also when using JACK transport with other tools, but internally audio was matched well enough.
I really need to be able to trust that when I record, the playback will be lined up just as when I recorded. Otherwise, I really can't use this at all…

This is the right time to send a bug report to the Ardour devs!

Re: Ardour 3 latency compensation problems
Yeah, I should. I haven't been involved in any of this yet, but I'm trying to get moreso…
But I opened another topic: http://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8147
Seems that this is an overall issue, and I don't understand it. I want to get a sense for what is already known about this issue…
