hydrogen issues

Post by funkmuscle »

hey, does anyone know how the midi out on Hydrogen connects to Qsynth to operate drum sf2 files? I did the basic connections with Qjackctl but no drum sound.
if not, is there a converter for sf2 to h2drumkit or will H2 be able to use soundfonts?

Hello funkmuscle, you have to enable MIDI on each instrument by assigning a MIDI channel and note value to it. Then you have to connect Hydrogen's MIDI-out port to Qsynth.

Best,

Jeremy
just looked at the LAU... that's the opposite...(why h2kit to sf2??? so much easier using hydrogen for drums than a midi seq from my trials...then again I use mostly natural kits for rock and not techno so I need the near human and natural sound which through trial, only H2 gives me.)

can that script do the reverse or have you used it Auto?

EDIT: funny, the dude explains his reasons why he needed the conversion at the bottom...helps to read it all first...

Hey ho!!

Hydrogen itself is not able to operate with soundfonts. Is it possible to convert a soundfont to wav, ogg or something like this? Then you could import them easily in hydrogen!
