seq24 volume control vertical bar doesnt work with ams track

when i connect ams to seq24 and create a track in the edit window, the black vertical bar beneath each note doesnt affect the volume from ams, whereas it works fine with e.g. hydrogen.
ideas?

This is just a guess, but is your patch in AMS set up to be velocity-sensitive? I'm not overly familiar with AMS, but most modular synthesis systems require you to explicitly patch in things like velocity sensitivity.
