I am looking for functionality in Ardour that I use quite frequently in Audacity. In Audacity it is called "Add Label At Playback Position", but I'm having a hard time finding it in Ardour.
Example usage scenarios:
1. Recording live music: identifying song changes (to minimize searching later)
2. Recording band practices/jam sessions: identifying song changes (to identify "keeper" sections and/or minimize searching later)
3. Mixing: identify snap/pop locations, take notes, etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for this in Ardour?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Ardour markers in real-time
don't know if you can label them but you have "location markers"... you can than easely pull between the locations using the numpad-keys
Re: Ardour markers in real-time
Thank you, but perhaps I should have been more clear: I was looking for how to create the markers during playback/record.
Good news, though, I finally found what I was looking for: In Ardour it's called "create a new marker at the playhead location", and the quick-drop during playback is with the Keypad Enter.

Just FYI, you can also do it in realtime with the Frontier Tranzport. Very nice.halfsoul wrote:Thank you, but perhaps I should have been more clear: I was looking for how to create the markers during playback/record.
