If you have a problem installing RG 1.7.0 related to a liblo conflict, uninstall liblo-dev first, then put it back afterwards.
I had to do this on Ubuntustudio hardy 64bit, and after stumbling around for while came up with this solution.
Be aware that Ardour requires the liblo-dev file, so if you do this you'll have to put it back as soon as you've installed RG, and before opening or touching Ardour.
