Seq192 - yet another fork of seq24

Post by jean-emmanuel »

Seq192, « a MIDI sequencer based on seq24 with less features and more swag », is currently in alpha with no release plan so far, but might be of interest for those who - like me - didn't find the other forks to their taste :).

Seq24 is brilliant but really needs a UI update. The "amount of pixels" used for it's interface is so small that it is very small on the screen. I need an extra pair of reading glasses to see it properly.

I hope you manage to import all Seq24's features into the great interface that you've created so far! :)

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you like it !

@Linuxmusician01 I don't plan to port much more features from seq24 than I already did, one might say this is a very opinionated fork :)

This is great.

I found all the other seqXXX to be somewhat difficult to work with.

This compiled easily on my Fedora 36, inside a toolbox with the various libraries installed.

I'm using it to sequence stuff in Bespoke, syncing the two with jack_link. Bespoke has an Ableton Live sync option.

And it looks great in Gnome 42.

Cheers,

Version 1.1.0 just got tagged. Since my last post, a bunch of bugs were fixed and some small features were added (see changelog).
