Hi all,
Okay, the setup has solidified, I can now work on the workflow.
How things go now:
On the recording PC (mini mac)
- start QjackCTL
- start Ardour and set up a new session
On the laptop (synths)
- start QjackCTL
- start jackmixer (and load the mix config)
- in the patchbay, I hook the mixer to the system out
- I start seq24
- I load the track to be played
- I start each synth on the ajacent desktop
and then, I need to configure each sequence in Seq24 to use a synth. Any way to avoid the latter? If I would have 15 or more patterns, this can be time consuming...
Thanks
Melissa
PS - I may need to venture into an other control, like Ardour or so, so far Seq24 works, but I do feel I may need to diversify...

I think a JACK session manager could help you to start all the applications and make the needed routings.
Have a look at Agordejo or RaySession.
Once you set things up you can save a session and you could automatically launch one of these session managers with a saved session directly from QjackCtl (Settings > Options > Execute script after startup).
