There is only 1 device and it's Audigy2.
It seems that SigmaTel is the mixer chip on Audigy family of cards and that's what alsamixer reports. From its perspective there is no Audigy2, just SigmaTel chip. Which kind of makes sense, but as everything under Linux, is "correct, but wrong".
Noob question re JACK

Re: Noob question re JACK
I suggest you take a look at the ALSA site and maybe talk with the driver developers. It could be that your card is not properly supported by ALSA, or that you need to load some firmware or do some workaround. It seems there are more than one "audigy 2" (?).

Re: Noob question re JACK
This page says that the alsa-firmware package is needed for the cards using your chipset.
(I found it clicking the 'Details' link for your card on this page http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. ... ative_Labs)
Good luck,
Gerard.

Re: Noob question re JACK
That would explain everything (at least I think so), but which card have you actually clicked? I too looked in disbelief at that page for a few minutes, not being able to find plain-Jane Audigy2 there.Yeri wrote:This page says that the alsa-firmware package is needed for the cards using your chipset.

It would have helped if they provided reference to the Creative IDs, like this one: SB0240P
Re: Noob question re JACK
I clicked at the SB Audigy Platinum (sorry, I didn't realize that the '2' is left).
It seems that there are other people having the same problem as you with the mic: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/163560
I found this page https://issues.rpath.com/browse/RPL-146 looking for your card ID (not exactly the same problem but can be useful).
In the emu10k1 driver code, it appears the identifier of your card http://www.cs.fsu.edu/~baker/devices/lx ... 0k1_main.c (line 1615) so I would check that this module is running.

Re: Noob question re JACK
Well, yes, of course emu10k1 module is running. W/o that there would be no sound in or out of the card.
