Hi, thanks for reading my post.
I bought an Akai mpd226 second hand yesterday, and want to use it as a drum pad. I installed JACK, qjackctl, and Hydrogen, but I cannot seem to get the pad to work with Hydrogens Drumkit mode.
In Instrument mode all pads produce sound, but I'm limited to 1 instrument, so i have 16 variations of a kick drum. In Drumkit mode the various instruments are supposed to be mapped to the various pads, but only pad1 is producing sound. Whenever I hit a pad I can see the midi indicator light flashing, but an error is reported to the terminal when I hit any pad other than pad1:
(E) AlsaMidiDriver::handleNoteOffMessage Can't find corresponding Instrument for note XX
XX is a number corresponding to the pad I pressed.
I am using hydrogen 0.9.7, on ubuntu 18.04. Any help would be appreciated, I'm going insane over here.

Re: JACK, Hydrogen, Akai MPD226 help
Hi!
have you used a midi monitor software to see which midi data your mpd is sending? This would be interesting to know.. I suppose that the midi notes which are send by your device are not matched to the notes which hydrogen would expect.
PS: Or just post your console output of those log messages here..
