Linux Daw and Pad Controllers

Post by retnev »

Do you know of any Linux Daws that can interface with a Pad controller such as Akai Fire or Novation.
It would be nice to control the daw during rehearsal with a pad.

I tried to convince mixbus to add midi controls to all the daw features, but they refused to byte.
So i need a different Linux Daw that can.

You can control nearly everything in Mixbus with midi controller.

Tavasti,
thank you very much for the response.

I asked the exact same question on the Mixbus Usergroup, and even the developer claims about nothing is Midi controllable .. and wont be in the foreseeable future.
Maybe the Midi functionality is available only in ardour.
I didnt think about that.
It is a good point, I will also ask on the Ardour Forum.
I will work through your links supplied first.

thank you very much.

Which user group you asked that question, I think I am in all possible of such :-)

But yeah, Mixbus is based in Ardour, so what works in Ardour works also in Mixbus. There might be some minor differencies, but this is not the thing where is something different. I have persunally created midimap for my keyboard, and it works great. Study the links, and your problem is solved :-)

Thanks I will read it and create a map.
That is all I really need thanks.

I verified at Ardour UG that the functionality you describe is still in the current version.

So I am good to go.
