I don't own one, however I am fairly sure it works via USB because it uses MIDI over USB, which is a standardized protocol.

I am not sure if it is USB compliant. If it is no USB compliant, then it most likely wont work with Linux.
Also, since I discuss using it on Linux, how are the string triggering sensitivity/levels etc set. That is usually done with a windows program.

Why does the triple play dongle show up with two midi inputs and outputs.
See the attached image.

I always thought midi handles channels with only one connection and you dont need two physical midi channels for one controller.

It might be that one channel is for pitch values and the other channel is for envelope.
In that case the pitch channel should be connected straight to synth midi in and the envelope midi out should be connected to the amplitude modulation in of the synth, probably the breath controller.
Or both data and envelope is sent on one channel and patch selection is sent on the second channel.

And even more weird, why does it have two midi capture channels ?
Or is that somehow for the patch data selection on the controller mounted on the guitar. I guess that must be it.
