Changing SF to Pizz Stac or Sus

Hi All,
I tend to use either Ardour or Rosegarden, but will switch is really required. Is there a simple way (other than always inserting a patch change) to change the 'instrument' you are using in a score part.
Essentially, with Rosegarden, I have a string part which wants to go from sus to pizz for example - and I put that in as a notation change but would love to link it to a patch change as well.
Can anything LINUX do this? I believe the OOM was meant to but that has kind of died a tadge.
