Qtractor muting individual notes
Hi. Is possible muting individual MIDI notes on Qtractor? I'm using a linux VST plugin (Ob-Xd synth), I've tried setting the note’s velocity to 0 but Qtractor continues generating sounds.
The Qtractor's version is 0.9.3 (KXstudio repositories)

Re: Qtractor muting individual notes
Use the Midifilter plugin collection.
The Midi Keyrange Filter plugin in your track, placed before the synth plugin, should do the job in exlude mode.

Wow, something happens here. With Carla Rack I have the same behavior, no velocity variations. Some plugins like Calf Monosynyh and FluidSynth can manage velocity variations, What happens here?
By the way, when i select a midi note and down the velocity bar never set on 0 value, always stay on "1", Exist a way to set velocity value via PC's keyboard?

P.D: Is the MIDI Event Filter the plugin of x42-plugins?

Re: Qtractor muting individual notes
OBXD is an emulation of the Oberheim OB_X
The original wasn't velocity sensitive, so it make sense the plugin is neither.
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oberheim_OB-X
Velocity expression : No So, nothing wrong with your setup or software, it's supposed to work this way.

Re: Qtractor muting individual notes
Some MIDI instruments treat a note-on with velocity 0 like a note-off. So maybe this is by intent.wakoo wrote: By the way, when i select a midi note and down the velocity bar never set on 0 value, always stay on "1", Exist a way to set velocity value via PC's keyboard?

The Midifilter collection is part of the x42-plugins.

Thanks bluebell. Now, I've used that plugin for filtering velocity and 'turn-off' (exclude mode).bluebell wrote:The Midifilter collection is part of the x42-plugins.
That's true, but Ob-xd have velocity sensitive and Qtractor can read it, I just discovered that have a AMP ENV and FLT ENV velocity knobs (pag. 06 from Manual)rghvdberg wrote:OBXD is an emulation of the Oberheim OB_X

Well, that's the radical solution and is a bit clunky. Sometimes while I compose need muting particular notes for try options and sometimes these changes don't work and if I delete the notes... ufff Can you imagine re-write multiple notes again and again?rghvdberg wrote:and why don't simply delete the notes ?

Re: Qtractor muting individual notes
You can undo your changes in Qtractor's MIDI editor with ctrl-z. That may help when trying things.
