How are control surfaces supposed to work in Ardour?

Post by sysrqer »

I've plugged in my MPD32, started Ardour and gone in to the control surfaces section of the preferences. In the list of inputs I just see loads of midi captures but nothing for my MPD32 although in catia I can see it there. Why doesn't ardour see it? In the midi ports tab there is nothing at all listed.

After many years I still don't understand midi in linux, should I be using None, Seq, or Raw?

raw is the safest, either in terms of latency and devices visibility.
