hey, does anyone know if this is possible in Ardour 5.11?

I trying to do the very last part where it selected a section in Ardour. What is going on there?
Is that not available in Ardour? After all, the editor of Mixbus is Ardour isn't it?

I came across this myself the other day, from looking on their forums the video is out of date and you have to use 'r' to select the range mode, select the range and then press 'd' to go in to draw mode to move the selection. I don't know why they don't make range and draw modes some kind of smart mode.
