Ardour export options? [solved]

Use stem export option. There you can select what tracks to export and apply sound processing for tracks if needed.

From menu: "Session->Export->Stem export..."
If you want to export range, you should define it in range markers first.
In the tab 'Time Span' you may select the range defined by you.
In the tab 'Channels' you may select all tracks/busses for export that you need.

Holy moly, yeah probably. You know the latest is 4.7 with talk of 5 on the horizon?
I'm curious, where did you get that version from?

You should upgrade immediately. Ardour 2.8 is very odd.

It's not that Ardour 2.x doesn't work, it does and we were glad to have it in its time. But Ardour 3 and Ardour 4 avec come since then and they are simply better, on every aspect. Too many to list them, though some obvious ones being UI responsiveness, MIDI, stability, etc...
The very feature you want does exist in Ardour4, why not turn it to your advantage and try the new one ? Plus, they can be installed alongside each other without interfering so there's no risk at all. But for having done so for a while, I can guarantee you won't switch back

I really meant "does". As Sadko4u said, the "stem export" option in 4.x does exactly what you want.

I understand your hardware issues, but as you can have Ardour 2.x and 4/x coexist on your system, just try to install version 4 and see : if it is slower or unusable, just uninstall it. Or better, use 2.x for your work, then open your session with 4.x only to stem export (I think the file format has not evolved enough to break the compatibility of simple mixes).

I am not sure if I have understood the original post, but if you just want a stereo mix without some particular tracks, just mute those tracks and export the master.
