Strange... Well, I'm running the 64-bit version of Power Drum and wine is configured as XP 64-bit. Maybe some of that info will help.

same setup here.. wine is set to xp 64bit. I'm on Arch.. I've been trying this for about a year now..
wouldn't even run in Reaper under Wine.

But no sense downloading the whole thing just for sources, so I uploaded a zip for you:

Apparently, you're running an old 32-bit OS?

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04, 64bit.

git pull & make did the trick, but then I hit next problem: backupband insists Jack has to be 44100. My audio interface gives bad quality with that, so I can't do that. Which of the backupband related discussion threads we should continue on this?

Some tuning, got my guitar input sound ok with zita-a2j (with alsa_in it is cracking on 44100). But BackupBand does not work somehow.
Should we discuss about BackupBand in other thread? (send also private message to j_e_f_f_g )

Try this:
Run winecfg. Click the "Libraries" tab. Click the drop-down list and add "d2d1" to the list of "Existing overrides." Click "Edit..." Set it to disabled. Click OK until winecfg is gone. Run the plugin again.

That works!

Tested with wine-1.99 (devel), WinXP 64bit, 64 bit vst, and wine-1.8, win7 32 bit, 32 bit vst. Both work with that fix with carla-single.

Seems to take tempo from jack/midi/something, selecting tempo in non-daw works, but start-stop needs to be selected from vst itself.
Having start-stop & tempo in one place would be nice, but I can live with it.

Got BackupBand working, and indeed, that's great software! In fact, couldn't even dream there is such software.
Works as drum machine, but also as band. I started to think how to get some mini-keyboard attached to guitar, so that I can command
chord changes while playing.

Now bit shuffling with j_e_f_f_g to get that to proper state in sourceforge, so that it will be available for others also.

It's Windows software, but runs fine through Carla. It takes MIDI input from any sequencer if you want, or you can just play along one of the many, many pre-recorded beats.

Carla loaded it, but GUI does not work (getting empty black window). :-(

I'm using the latest wine-staging in Arch.. I've heard it does everything the wine-rt does. Even the regular wine never worked.
I'm using the XP settings :(

for a guitarist, the best choice is a 1 octave foot pedal unit like this:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ ... oCJbLw_wcB

All you need is a unit that has 12 momentary switches that spit out either 12 midi notes, or 11 midi notes and 1 controller. go to backupband's 'Setup ->Midi' screen and click on "Minor Chord". Step on your 12th pedal (set to any controller). You've now recreated the Chords screen. The 11 pedals play the major chords, or they play the 11 minor chords while you're also holding down the 12th pedal.

The best choice is have that for controlling this and that, and then one of these:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/hammond_xpk_100.htm

And sure, there is also this coming out soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJFfnTkyj-g

But then, back to realism:
* I want to stay in 'shoestring' budget
* My office is quite crowded, and there isn't too much floor available

Yes, I found that out. Still thinking should i build something small for attaching on guitar, or something to the floor.

Hello all,

I tried the Power Drumkit and got it working with carla. Now I wonder how do I get the patterns into a sequencer. According to the demo video it should work with drag and drop. But this doesn't work with Qtractor and Ardour. Does anybody know a solution?

Best regards,
Jochen
