How to use drumstick-tools?

Post by Luc »

Right now, I am more interested in drumstick-drumgrid specifically.

I open it and see cells in a grid. It seems I can insert f (full?) or p (partial?) or numbers. I don't know what the numbers do. There are five instruments. Can I add more? How? Can I rename them? How? Can I change anything while playing? It seems it's not possible, but I'm not sure.

The manual doesn't answer any of these questions. It only explains the command line options.

I googled, but didn't find anything useful.

I searched the site, but it tells me that "drumstick-drumgrid" is too common a word. I hate it when it does that. So there are probably way too many posts or threads about it, but I can't find them.

Anyone? Please?

luc,

take a look at hydrogen if you want a drum/beat tool. drumstick-tools is mostly an API for alsa sequencer.
