Re: Download for Linux
The kits were recorded by Vincent (tchackpoum.fr), of his drums. They have no bleed but there are room and overhead buses (both stereo). They sound great. There are 3 sets of toms, 5 snares, a bunch of cymbals, a few kicks...lots of stuff. Kicks have in/out/sub channels, snares have top/bottom chann...

Re: Download for Linux
I think the idea of having a library of beats is useful for some people especially if used as a basis for an idea and/or jamming out something quickly. I seem to work backwards though, wanting the drums to match something so specifically that even using Ezdrummer2's library crammed full of extra MID...

Re: Download for Linux
ugh this runs under wine, I can't drag and drop the midi tracks into Ardour, Reaper.... With this script, you can import the file in Reaper (no drag-and-drop, but it's better than nothing). https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2030985 I stopped using "built in" MIDI in drum plugins a...

Re: Do any Guitar pedal makers offer Linux support?
I'd prefer that they made the software usable in Linux too, but for my purposes I don't mind. I like the selection of cabs it has once I got used to them and how the presets work (mic position/distance, EQ, etc.); it's actually quite flexible. Plus I'm only really using it for bass guitar at the mom...

Re: Do any Guitar pedal makers offer Linux support?
I just wanted to say this is a great question. Seeing USB ports on pedals and amps is a frustrating trend. I got a Mooer Radar a few months back which I am about to sell for this very reason. Amazing tool crippled by its attachment to its software. It works fine without connecting it to a computer ...

... he cuts the lows and highs short so that the mid frequencies echo out longer, and then he was swooning over the result -- I think at one point I considered constraining it so that you couldn't do that, because as he mentioned, sound doesn't really echo like that. Then I decided, whatever, if pe...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
Also some people have chained both of them in one reverb bus, first the room and then the hall. I should have known somebody would try such shenanigans, but I didn't even think of it  ... if you want to try it, I would suggest only including early reflection in the first one... of course that'...

Re: Most used Linux distribution?
It turns out that I was wrong about my MX Linux install having no tweaks. Installing qjackctl had automatically added my user name to the RT group and set it for high priority. I discovered this when I did a fresh install of MX a little while ago, since qjackctl isn't installed by default and my per...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
The RT CPU measurement has little to do with the CPU measurement, RT CPU is similar to JACK's DSP load, that is to say that it measures how much of the time available to process the audio was actually used. Ok then. That means the "true CPU" of these plugins is 15% lower when used without...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
That's most likely because of reaper's "anticipative fx processing". Reaper normally precalculates the dsp for all tracks that aren't processing live sound. To get a value that you can compare you'd have to recarm the track or place the fx on the masterbus in reaper. I just tried them on ...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed
My numbers in Reaper (the only DAW I use) are back to what they were for Dragonfly Hall 1.1.4, which is approximately 0.7% CPU on my desktop Linux computer. (0.8% for hall, 0.6% for room with the oversampling at 1x.) The graphs draw very quickly too. This is for the Linux VST versions of the Dragonf...
