Re: LNXMuSCNS video meetings on Saturday / 6pm GMT / 8pm CEST / 14.00 EDT

During the last meeting @briandc brought up the need to record midi without using a DAW or a sequencer. It worked using arecordmidi command but i was thinking about using something that is JACK native because I remember something like that existed... and I found it: https://github.com/zynthian/jack...

Re: Windows Audio vs. Linux Audio

I second merlyn . From what I've seen, xruns are often a problem on *any* operating system if the GUI is very involved. There are some really beautiful synths for linux that have very "basic" UIs but which are awesome in terms of sound (imo, of course). In a very real sense, you can't have...

LNXMuSCNS video meetings on Saturday / 6pm GMT / 8pm CEST / 14.00 EDT

Hi everyone, after our (12th?) weekly chat meeting, I thought I'd make this thread to cover all future meetings. The time (at least for now) is Saturdays at 6pm GMT, and the link to participate is: Linux Musicians Weekly Meeting . As always, all are welcome and encouraged to join in. It's a great wa...

Re: LNXMuSCNS video meet Saturday May 15th / 6pm GMT / 8pm CEST / 14.00 EDT

Just a thought.... Can we use one single thread for the weekly meet-ups? It might be easier for people to follow.
Maybe with a more "generic" title?

What do you guys think?

Thank you LAM for adding this thread. And thanks also to merlyn , Fmajor7add9 PieterPenninckx , rghvdberg and others for the wonderful evening! (even though I started nodding off towards midnight..). Lots of interesting topics... like jazz and blues influences, music and social influence, etc. Alway...

@Fmajor7add9 Thanks for all the help with the minutes! :)

Another very enjoyable evening indeed! Lots to talk about, as usual. (We maybe digressed a bit more than usual, but hey...)

Looking forward to next Saturday already! (And I just might participate in the Air Windows challenge..)

Yes, thanks everyone for the (7th?) enjoyable meeting/evening! Always interesting stuff to discuss and share. I really enjoyed seeing the desktop presentations; merlyn 's presentation of Audour got me thinking about it anew. I've got some definite laziness to get over! :) And rghvdberg 's presentati...

Exactly what you suggested: libjack-jackd2-dev !!
IT WORKS!! (and so nice to have it back in my arsenal!) Thanks nilshi and @jujudusud and anyone else who worked to get it revived again! :)

As far as dumping in 12 violin samples.... have you tried Linux Sampler? Or Petri-Foo? Or Cumulus? Or maybe Borderlands?
Just some thoughts..
