Re: Need help with User Guide
Additive synthesis is a sound synthesis technique that creates timbre by adding sine waves together. The timbre of musical instruments can be considered in the light of Fourier theory to consist of multiple harmonic or inharmonic partials or overtones. Each partial is a sine wave of different frequ...

Re: Need help with User Guide
From my pov, ZASFX and Yoshimi are quite hard to grasp if you are a beginner/intermediate synth user due to some names/labels that are against classical literature on the subject. Literature goes like: In subtractive synthesis, you send a complex waveform into a filter to reduce its harmonic content...

I sometime hit Who Sampled when I hear something that itches my ears and that can't remember where I heard it.

Once again, you should report this to the Faust community. You have a specific and reproducible case that could lead to improvements for everyone

Re: Faust IDE
You're right, there is no MIDI processed. I also tested this patch in Faust IDE and even if I see incoming MIDI events, there's no sound produced. It could be that this example is outdated, you should report this either in the Faust users mailing list or on Github. Are your troubles related to MIDI ...

Re: A native editor
I have one right now if you need someone for testing.
I can't remember the original software as I used it only once to set things as needed and forgot about it.

Hi!
I've managed just a few minute ago to compile the clarinet demo to the target you indicated and it shows and run in Carla without a problem.
Do you have a specific example of dsp code that doesn't work so that I could try here?

Re: FOSS Replacement for Waves MaxxBass?
I'm looking for ways to ensure low frequencies are audible on computer speakers. Depending on these speakers, there is a limit to how low they can go. Trying to generate really low basses could damage/destroy your speakers so be careful with low frequency generators, I've been there and killed chea...

Bluebell nailed it
I would recommend using your home path instead of /etc , that way it is easier to find it/edit it.

Re: Penguin Polka - One Synth Challenge #118
Really great sound design, the horns and accordion are nicely done!
And the track itself is so cheerfull and out of trends that it really stands out, I'm sure you had fun doing it and hope you'll get rewarded for all that

Re: Where can I get classic wavetables or extract them from db files?
In the last link I posted, in the left menu there are multiple entires like bw_saw, bw_tri or bw_squ. These are bandlimited saw, triangle or square waves. Can't be more classic than that

Re: Where can I get classic wavetables or extract them from db files?
There is a visual guide for the collection. I'm pretty sure some of those waveforms come from classic synths but for copyright reasons they are not labelled as such.
