Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

One question, about the mono part. ( gluing the kick to the bassline ) LMMS prob can't do that ? if its explained in any daw though, I am interested, even if I can't do it in lmms. I am old enough to know what mono means, but because LMMS is in stereo like most daw ? I am confused already. :) Of co...

Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

I simply downloaded the 3.1.1 appimage and didn't install any plugin, this is the builtin melodic range spectrogram.

Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

Here's a great tool to view what's going on: Sonic Visualiser . Our ears and our eyes can be fooled but not both at the same time  This gave me this screenshot that has been taken starting from the hey hey! right before the bass starts. sonic visualiser.jpg Yellow vertical lines are the kick a...

Re: Kraze - The party , bassline trouble.

To me it sounds duum dum dum, no da. :? The dadum is an illusion caused by the kick that blends well with the bass and triggers compression. This causes a volume drop in the bass and instead of a DUUUMm you get a DUuUMm. As the bass is offbeat and the kick is on the beat it enforce this effect. Try ...

Re: Former Proppelerheads Reason user looking for a workflow advice a.k.a Cannot into Linux Music Production

Claudia is a LADISH frontend; it's just like Catia, but focused at session management through LADISH. It has a bit more features than the official LADISH GUI, with a nice preview of the main canvas in the bottom-left. It also implements the 'Claudia-Launcher' add-application style for LADISH. Simpl...

Re: Former Proppelerheads Reason user looking for a workflow advice a.k.a Cannot into Linux Music Production

I had a lot of fun with Reason too! What was appealing to me at that time was the modular approach, with the tab key (was it?) to go behind the rack and fiddle with cables and routing. And a sequencer to pilot everything. Now the big difference is that on Linux, the whole OS is the rack thanks to Ja...

Re: Poll: What samplerate do you use with jack?

48 kHz here, because I trust antialiasing algorithms in the synths and effects I use :D
42low wrote:Why not use 22khz stereo then? Which also covers the full hearing ranges?
It doesn't, as per the sampling theorem it can only reproduce frequencies up to 11kHz

Re: Automation?

Advanced users could also use OSC and/or MIDI messages coming from Pure Data (from basic LFOs to Context Sequencer which looks amazing!) or even Iannix but maybe this belongs to another topic. At least those are great examples of how modular is our favorite OS and how deep you can go in automation. :D

Re: Automation?

The best would be to give us a quick overview of your workflow to set a case study. In the mean time this is what I use automation for: - Precision: an automation track can be edited to get the automated parameter behave exactly like you want it to change over time -> raised that filter cutoff a lit...

Re: Convert Mint to KXStudio. Cinnamon vs mate?

Using Mint 18.3 & Cinnamon here, had no problems with it. From the official documentation : Of course, all three desktops are great and Linux Mint is extremely proud of each edition. Although there are more features and better support in some editions than others, and some do run faster and use ...
