Re: Stereo widening

Calf has some tools: Stereo Tools : change the volume of only mid or side signal, change the stereo base from mono to phase-inverted stereo, delay the channels, change the phase of channels Multiband Enhancer : use four different bands for dedicated stereo base enhancement and add harmonic distorti...

Re: studio monitors

I would suggest to not by them online but to go for a shop selling studio gear, even if you have to drive for an hour+ to get there. At least from my experience reliable dealers are willing to send you home with a couple of pairs (if you don't look for the < 100$ stuff) so you're able to test them i...

Re: Poll: What samplerate do you use with jack?

Apologies for a quite lengthy answer but this thread sucks big time. So let's get back to topic. Disclaimer: I am not the brightest bulb in the box. Not even close. So this is my personal opinion, not more, not less. No demand for "the truth". I'm working @ 48kHz all the time because for m...

Re: Can't install wineasio

Hey zenmuzik,

just a general note: when asking for help it would be nice if you could a) switch your terminal language to English temporarily by executing

Code: Select all

export LC_ALL=C
and b) use the code-tags around the terminal output. Your cheerful helpers will be thankful.

Re: When you release your music, do you credit Linux?

On the hardware/software side I always make mention of stuff I got for free, I'm proud of using or I promised to do so. I don't feel the need to mention e.g. the manufacturer of my graphics hardware - I paid for it and I'm not overly proud of it (could be any other graphics board, too). Linux, Ardou...

Re: i guess most of them are bots

It is spam, but more the clandestine one. https://linuxmusicians.com/memberlist.php?first_char=g&start=50 There you can see a couple of user accounts, created in a narrow time frame, all with four digits at the end of the user name, demonstrating what it is all about: presenting a domain to be p...

Re: Jack & Ardour

Probably a second jackd already running (through jackdbus or something) connected to your internal soundcard with some low-res default settings so Ardour can't connect a full session to it? Just guessing..

Re: How to make circular audio spectrum in kdenlive?

I guess what you're looking for is polar distortion ? If so - I'm not aware of any effect like this in KDEnlive. So what you have to do is: decompose your rectangular spectrum footage to single frames (might eat up quite some harddisk space) like mkdir frames && ffmpeg -i spectrum.avi frames...

Re: 44.1 kHz is slowly reaching its end

Hm, hard to tell. Probably caused by the resamplers filter or something, this would need some deeper investigation like reading/debugging the sox source. Maybe other resamplers don't do it. But that's just unreliable guessing.

Re: Weird "beeps" in mixes

It sounds almost as if were there on purpose I guess that's why we (?) don't hear it cause how to know what should be in there and what not (while being in time and in tune and not very present) in a complete mix with lots of tracks one has no insight into. Sorry, I didn't hear it either. But you s...
