P.S.
19/63 is better than I do with the KVR cafe contests.
I don't really have a style

been thinking about the cafe contest too but for now I keep on working on the OSC. It's a great learning experience.

Re: Held broken packages (libnepomuk4) when installing kdenlive

Got this on mint too.
Try to install with aptitude. That will give an option (2nd) that'll work.

sudo aptitude install kdenlive

Re: One Synth Challenge 88 : TAL - NoiseMaker

I have a free account and can enable downloads.
Downloads are off by default if you upload a track and you have to enable it in the "permissions" tab.

One Synth Challenge 88 : TAL - NoiseMaker

Hi all, I invite (challenge?) you to join the KVR One Synth Challenge. Every month there's a friendly competition where tracks are made using only one virtual synth for absolutely all sounds, including percussion, then voted on. I can tell you, it's LOTS of fun to do. There are prizes to be won, eve...

Re: Why "notes", duples?

Agreed, music theory doesn't dictate what to do. It isn't a set of rules. It just describes what and how it is commonly done in (western) music.

Btw, tracks in a DAW don't have to follow the tempo or 'grid', just record like you would on an old fashion tape recorder.

Re: simple Midi composer?

On the left you can open a file browser. Just click and drag a sample to a new track. Instant sample player. It's crude, simple but efficient.

Re: Drum machine with patterns?

Here's a thought.
Download the manual of this old drummachine. All the preset patterns are written in a kind of tablature.
