Re: Stereo dictaphone/cheaper digital audio recorder?

I have the Tascam DR-05. I am not very happy with it, but only because I think it's too basic. I just couldn't afford any better. What feature or quality does it lack? As I said, I might be willing to splash out a bit more for a more expensive model. I wish it had more inputs so I could use it in a...

Re: dedicated subforum for foreign software on wine issues

Why does this even matter? Can I block a subforum if I want to? How? Can I subscribe to one? How? What happens then? Do I get email notifications for it? The FAQ are mum about this.

Re: Stereo dictaphone/cheaper digital audio recorder?

I can't understand why you need any help with this when your requirements/expectations are admittedly low. For what you want, any recorder will do really. Even FLAC is overkill. I have the Tascam DR-05. I am not very happy with it, but only because I think it's too basic. I just couldn't afford any ...

Re: Anyone using Caustic (3.2) ?

The same for me since 3.2 was released. But our fellow member tavasti has reported success running 3.2: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=15412&p=79362 Go figure. Either way, for some mysterious reason, I've found that everything in it sounds better if I run it on the Android d...

Re: Plugin to send off note after X seconds

I didn't check, but there must be a Piz Midi plugin that does what you want. Check them out:

https://bitbucket.org/agraef/pizmidi

Their original site has been offline for some time, but they're still available from other sources such as the one above. The KXStudio repository provides them.

I missed it too. I would have posted about it before if I had known. I haven't been keeping up with KVR really. Way too busy. :(

Re: Symlinks with Linvst?

Thanks. But the problem with your proposal is that every single folder that contains relevant .dll files would have to be linked individually to /home/user/vst thus creating some kind of replica of the folder structure that I want to avoid. My goal is to use Linvst - which is more stable - in a simi...

Symlinks with Linvst?

I symlinked a few linvst bridge .so files to another file system and neither Tracktion nor Ardour can find them. Is it the DAWs that ignore symlinks or does Linvst refuse to work that way?

I don't believe for a second that carriers will let that happen in their networks. Blatant breach of privacy has become a very large, powerful and lucrative industry.

Re: Bitwig Studio

Ah, I see Bitwig still has crappy MIDI implementation. Why would it be crappy, really ? Is it by ideology or because of real technical problems you experience ? I can launch any MIDI capable application here and my hardware will be acknowledged immediately. Tracktion will even remember all my custo...

Re: Bitwig Studio

Ah, I see Bitwig still has crappy MIDI implementation. IIRC, every single freaking audio application I ever tested only worked with MIDI bridge enabled, except Bitwig, which required the opposite. Or something like that. I'm not quite sure. Also, make sure you enable recording (the "o" but...

Re: Beat Magazine + content: new access/pricing

I'm confused. If this is for Beat and Beat is a German magazine, why is that subscription ad all written in English? Are they just using English to lure people with the downloads, or is there something new going on?
